Anne Van Dusen of Alban Institute dies at 47

[Episcopal News Service] Anne Van Dusen, a senior research associate with the Alban Institute of Washington, D.C., died unexpectedly of a heart attack in her sleep on June 25 while attending a conference for the American Association of Theological Librarians in Ontario. She was 47.

An active member of the Episcopal Communicators since 1995, Van Dusen previously served as director of communications for Trinity Parish, Copley Square, Boston, where she was a member and choir singer for many years. She was also an accomplished flautist.

Anne Wilbur VanDusen was born February 21, 1961 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, She graduated from Weston High School in 1979 and Smith College in 1983.

Survivors include Van Dusen's close friend, William Nichols; her father, David B. VanDusen; three brothers and three sisters; 10 nieces and nephews and many cousins and friends.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2 at St. Francis-by-the-Sea Church in Blue Hill, Maine, near a family home in Deer Isle. 

At her family's request, memorial donations may be made in Van Dusen's memory to the American Cancer Society, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, or the Island Heritage Trust.
